A National Cattlemen's Beef Association representative says the U-S cattle herd is the smallest it's been since the early 60's.
Colorado rancher Dan McCarty says he finds Canadian and American cattle producers have much in common including Country of Origin Labeling.

"There's a lot of things that we can be doing as beef producers in Canada and the United States to enhance our industry and image to ultimately increase demand with the beef consumer", he says, "we all raising the same product so we all need to get on the same page"

He says American cattle producers are concerned about losing infrastructure as slaughter facilities lose their viability with shrinking production.
