Macleod's MP says the last thing a livestock producer wants is to be doing more book work to access funds.
Ted Menzies says he's heard from producers in the riding that the federal Hog Loan Program is an onerous task and he's sure the federal agriculture minister is looking for ways to make it easier. "We all know what bureaucratic red tape can be involved", he says, "I faced that as a grain producer through the years and no one likes to see that, it always seems very onerous. I"m sure the minister is working on simplifying that process". Alberta's Agriculture Minister George Groeneveld is forwarding concerns raised by Alberta Pork to his federal counterpart about the federal Hog Loan Program. |
