The MD of Foothills is not sure exactly what to make of the proposed provincial electoral boundaries. Under the changes council will have three MLA's to deal with instead of two. Municipal Manager Harry Riva Cambrin says it's hard to say if that's good or bad as it really depends on the MLA's themselves. While it can mean you have more people up to bat for you, he says there's more distance there and it can be difficult to set up meetings and stay in touch. He says it also affects the individual councillors as the boundaries mean some divisions will now have more than one MLA to deal with on their own, or the MLA is centred much farther away than in the past. Riva Cambrin says there are some concerns that are being tossed around but council wants to set up a meeting with it's current MLA's before sending any recommendations to the boundaries commission.
